USS Texas BB35

Division F

 

 

   During WWII division F was the fire control personnel. 

They manned the "Battery Fire Control" stations, "Plotting" and the "Fire Control Directors" which were located above the Flag Bridge and during a time were mounted atop turret #2 and #4.

Eugene Lewis Conley Sr.

Eugene Lewis Conley Sr. who served aboard the Texas from April 1942 through November 1944. He said he was in Division F (Main Battery) and his rank was Fire Control 1st Class.

When he left the service he joined the Kearney Fire Department in Kearney NJ where he retired from several years ago. He now lives in Florida.
