The First Sergeants Office

The Marines First Sergeants office is located on the second deck (see Diagram below). 

There was approx. 85 Marines stationed aboard the USS Texas.  

The Texas Parks and Wildlife staff along with some assistance from 

the Volunteer organization (FTV).

 Were able to completely restore this office which had not been worked on prior to this date.

Hats off to Fernando, Barry Ward and John Ferguson and the Volunteers

that worked on this restoration project.

    Below is a diagram showing the location aboard the ship of the Marine First Sgt's office.    

For those of you who have seen the movie "Pearl Harbor" this area of the ship was used in the movie.

The scene was "All hands General Quarters" you watched the sailors jumping out of their bunks and going to

their battle stations.  This is on the second deck starboard (right) side of the ship next to the #3 turret.
