Temporary door installed to allow for better
ventilation.

View of the compartment from the starboard
passageway. |

On the forward side of the compartment attached to
the #1 barbette is the "Dish Rack". Talk about an erector set..... |

Looking at the overhead hatch leading to the main
deck.
Yes, it is really that rusted!!!! |

This is one of the two refrigerators in the
compartment. Both have the doors and most of the hardware missing.
This will be a real challenge to repair. |

Looking aft in the pantry is the #1 barbette. After
many months of Needle Gunning and sanding. |

Looking toward the left aft side of the pantry.
We have a long way to go... |

Caught Don Fischer in the act on
restoration |

Starboard side of the compartment near
the aft bulkhead (# 1 Barbette). This shows the holes in the deck.
Yes, rusted through holes which, we will have to repair. |

Port side of the compartment where the
refrigerator was located we found a odd "Red" primer coat of paint. |

After we removed the starboard
refrigerator we set up the stand to continue the rust busting phase.
|

This photo shows more holes in the
metal deck from rust. We removed a brass ring so that we can do the
needed repairs without causing damage to the ring. |
