Drawing showing third
deck access to the passageway.
Drawing from ship's
plans.
This project was
needed due to years of water intrusion into this area of the ship. Beginning on
the third deck and going down three levels (third deck, first platform, second
platform). This is the normal access to enter Plotting and the Interior
Communications Room.
For those of you that
have taken the Hard Hat Tours you have seen this area of the ship.
I want to thank the
following Volunteer Restoration Crew members for working on this project.
Chuck Moore, Steve
Bostick, Andrew Bostick, Mike Fisk, Wesley Grace, David Glass, Brian Planz, Lisa
Kolb, Dennis Kwiecien, Kenneth Leasure, George Ridgley, Ron Roemer, Mark
Tibbitts.
As a Volunteer I
want to stress to everyone that if we did not have the support from the ship's
staff that none of the projects we do would have been possible. On this
particular project Mr. Barry Ward the ship's manager, Mr. George Templin ship's
maintenance supervisor, and Norman Snipe ship's welder helped us out a great
deal.
Again thanks to all
that helped.
