This model was made prior to the construction of the ship, the Texas was built in 1912-1914

This is a nice shot, it shows the conning tower (round armored room) as well as the 5"gun at the right and the base of the forward mast.

Close up of the forward tower and forward smoke stack. The towers were used for main and secondary battery fire control and look outs.

Nice view of the starboard side of the ship from the aft smoke stack to #4 and #5 14" turrets.

This is the stern or back of the ship. Special note on this photo is the 5" stern gun and the other 5" gun mounted on the side or "Casemate" of the ship. These guns were later removed from these locations.
