Port Bow (left front) photo of the model. Port side photo of the stern (back of the ship- left side). Port side amid ship. (left side-middle of the ship) Starboard bow photo. (Right front ) As you can see this model is very large and detailed. Well worth a trip to see it for yourself. |
I want to thank those of you who take the time to share with all of us the different photos you have that pertain to the Battleship Texas. This photo shows the propeller and rudder design for the Texas. This is a nice shot, it shows the conning tower (round armored room) as well as the 5"gun at the right and the base of the forward mast. Close up view of turret #4 and #5. |
Close up view of turret #3 and one of the boats stored on deck. Close up of the forward tower and forward smoke stack. The towers were used for main and secondary battery fire control and look outs. Nice view of the starboard side of the ship from the aft smoke stack to #4 and #5 14" turrets. This is the stern or back of the ship. Special note on this photo is the 5" stern gun and the other 5" gun mounted on the side or "Casemate" of the ship. These guns were later removed from these locations. |
